THE SECOND ISTANBUL SOMALIA CONFERENCE

"Preparing Somalia's Future: Goals for 2015"

 (Istanbul, 31 May - 01 June 2012)

1. GENERAL INFORMATION

Turkey will host the Second Istanbul Somalia Conference, under the theme "Preparing Somalia's Future: Goals for 2015" on 31 May-01 June 2012 at Istanbul Congress Center.

            Besides high level participation of Presidents, Prime Ministers and Ministers from 54 countries, representatives of international and regional organizations such as the Secretary General of UN, the President of the African Union Commission, the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation will take part in the Conference.

2.  ACCREDITATION

Members of the press who wish to cover the activities should apply for accreditation to the address below in person or e-mail, NO LATER THAN Monday, 28 May 2012 by 4:00 pm.

a)      Members of the national press should legibly fill in the enclosed accreditation form (also available at www.byegm.gov.tr) and attach a copy of their press card. Media members without this press card should apply with a letter of authorization from their media organization and a copy of their official ID cards.

b)     Resident members of the foreign press in Turkey should legibly fill in the enclosed accreditation form (also available at www.byegm.gov.tr) and attach a copy of their press card.

c)      Members of the foreign press coming from abroad should legibly fill in the enclosed accreditation form (also available at www.byegm.gov.tr) and attach a copy of their local press card, a letter of authorization from their media organization, a copy of their passport.

Accreditation forms can be downloaded from www.byegm.gov.tr.

      Applications received after the aforementioned deadline will not be processed.

      Members of the press who submit all the requested documents in due time can collect their accreditation cards on Wednesday & Thursday, 30-31 May 2012, at the accreditation desk which will be set up at the Istanbul Congress Center, between 09:00-16:00.

Turkish Radio-Television Co. (TRT) and Anadolu Agency (AA) are the official broadcasters of the meeting.
