In commemoration of the 70th anniversary of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s passing,a special Atatürk lecture was delivered by Prof Heath Lowry on Monday, November 10, 2008 at the Turkish Embassy on ““WERE ATATÜRK ALIVE TODAY”.
Dr. Heath W. Lowry is a Mustafa Kemal Ataturk Professor of Ottoman and Modern Turkish Studies at the Department of Near Eastern Studies at
His most recentpublications include a series of three books on early Ottoman history: The Nature of the Early Ottoman State.
